GS and TAS

Recommended Posts

Hello everybody !!I'm still working on my Airbus PFD (almost finished) and I'll soon work on a ND. For this reason, I need to know what is the difference between Ground Speed (GS) and the True Airspeed (TAS).I guess the difference is the wind influence. I mean that if there is no wind, GS = TAS.Am I right ?Thanks for your help.Eric

You're right TAS is the true speed through the airmasses, GS is speed relative to ground.Arne Bartels
