March 25Mar 25 I've run into an issue with MSFS 2020, presumably since the last update. Every time I start the sim I'm presented with the initialisation parameter screens. After completing them I can enter a flight. But after exiting and restarting, I am presented with the initialisation again. I uninstalled then reinstalled the sim via the Xbox app, but that made no difference. As part of the flow, I am given the option to load "Essential Packages". If I try to load them I am returned to the initialisation screen, eventually being presented with a blank update screen, at which point the process locks. Edited March 25Mar 25 by Phil24405
April 2Apr 2 Author Hi All. A quick update as to how I resolved this problem. Not a cheap option I'm afraid. After multiple re-installations I came to the conclusion that I was trapped between MSFS upgrades and the lack of available updates for my older graphics card (NVDIA 1060) So I installed a new NVIDIA RTX 5060. Re-installed MSFS again (oh, the joys of a 141Gb download!) and everything worked fine, first time. I now have all of my sliders set to Ultra, even with my underpowered i5 cpu.
