FSS Embraer 175 - how do I add fuel?

Featured Replies

Hi

From a running start, I'm enjoying the E175 Experimental - for me, the VNAV is working pretty well, both for climb-to-cruise and descent.

And so, I thought it would be even better if I could start from Cold and Dark.  But there's a problem - and I think I hit this with the previous beta and not just the new Experimental.  The problem is that the aircraft is starting pretty much empty of fuel...to the point I can't even start the engines.

This is what the pretty comprehensive (but out of date) FSS Manual says:

"How can I add weight & fuel?

Navigate to the preflight page in the EFB. You can either import a flightplan from SimBrief which automatically presets the calculated weights or enter your own weights. At the bottom on the page click on start loading to actually apply the weights to the aircraft.

Please don't use the ingame weight menu as it will interfer with our custom logic"

Google says much the same and adds that the 'Load Aircraft' is on the Preflight page of the EFB.

But it isn't loading my Simbrief plan fuel and, as far as I can see, there is neither a Preflight Page, or a command to 'Load Aircraft' on the EFB.

I don't think I'm missing anything on the EFB (although it seems unusually sparce generally) and can't get the aircraft to take on the Simbrief load (the route works fine)

Anyone know what I'm missing - or know of a shortcut for me to add fuel?

Found it - rookie-ish error.  And yes - the issue was with both the non-Experimental and the Experimental versions.

Starting with the opening EFB ref the Flight:

...then, when you click 'Import Simbrief Flightplan', the tick-in-a-circle at the bottom RHS of the box changes subtly...which I mistakenly took to mean that it had imported everything:

But that is NOT the case.  Even though the MDCU now has imported the Simbrief route, the process is not finished yet.  You have to 'Click the Tick!'   And when you do, you get this:

And, as you can see above, there is another Tick-in-a-circle here.  And you have to click that one too.  And when you do, you get this:

More info about the Flightplan, but importantly, also at the bottom, there is another tab - 'Departure'.  Click that and you now get this:

...which, crucially, has the 'Begin Loading' options and buttons!!

Got there.  It would have been easier and quicker to get there if FSS hadn't banned users posting on their Discord site (this ban applies to the published versions as well as the Experimental) but at least I got there in the end...
