IT IS TIME TO SHOW THE WIPS to the World!

Recommended Posts

It is time once again to show our customers from around the world the projects we have underway in this fantastic forum.UFO/Steve has started the show with his projects here:http://ftp.avsim.com/dcforum/DCForumID9/1571.html#0My most recent WIP was the construction of a Craftsman style tool box. This is just fooling around in the ProE class while the others were finishing the required class project. I will mount my class project on top of it. I will convert it to gmax and upload the source so you can have one on the ramp or in your factory/frepair facility. The F.A.R.T.S. new aircraft plant needs several more similar. As the msg says, we are accepting applications for 3 remaining apprenticeships at the F.A.R.T.S. design center.http://mtco.com/~rsam/appbox.jpgrsam@mtco.comBobhttp://mtco.com/~rsam/fartslogo.jpg

Nice toolbox there, Bob. Right now I am busy with the Dash-6 for Yeodesigns, and some other secret projects. So instead of posting shots of the Twin Otter, which most of you know by now, I am doing it different now. I am posting soem previews of the Saab 2000 version 2 which I started some time back. It was meant to replace some of the distorted parts of version 1. Since this on looked better, I decided to make it a complete aircraft. Release date is somewhere this century, since my YD projects has priority right now.Hope you enjoy the pics.Udo.:-wave

Still pushing for a release early next year - which involves replacing the few remaining gauges (such as the INS) which other developers have designed, with my own. The most time-consuming part seems to be linking all the systems to each other - well, and drawing all the bitmaps ;-) Here are a few shots of my "WIP"..! Concorde Project 2002Again - I would like to thank everyone on this forum for all their support over the last few months! :-) Andyhttp://ftp.avsim.com/dcforum/User_files/3de8af606e426f13.jpg

I'm almost embarrased to show this, but this is the result of my first two hour effort at building a VC for the new Beriev BE-103 Amphib.Gee, don't those gauges look familiar? :)

My work in progress is Edwards Air Force Base. This is a huge base with a dry lake bed that has dozens of runway marked in the sand. I created over 85 sq miles of photorealistic scenery for this project and the results are breathtaking. In addition to the three working airports there are dozens of hangers and the Dryden Research area. The project is about 30 percent complete and I have about 100 hours in is currently. Im using FSSC to lay down the runways, taxiways, line, and polygons. FSDSv2 to create the compiled bgl macros. And Architect to create the photo overlay. Here are a few screens.http://wagsterstuff.com/screens/edw_001.jpghttp://wagsterstuff.com/screens/edw_002.jpghttp://wagsterstuff.com/screens/edw_003.jpghttp://wagsterstuff.com/screens/edw_004.jpghttp://wagsterstuff.com/screens/edw_005.jpghttp://wagsterstuff.com/screens/edw_006.jpghttp://wagsterstuff.com/screens/edw_007.jpghttp://wagsterstuff.com/screens/edw_008.jpghttp://wagsterstuff.com/screens/edw_009.jpghttp://wagsterstuff.com/screens/edw_010.jpghttp://wagsterstuff.com/screens/edw_011.jpgHope to have the scenery done early next yearDennis Waggonerhttp://wagsterstuff.com/wsslogo.jpgwww.wagsterstuff.com

Dennis, you have no clue how much I have dreamed of a good Rodgers Dry lake/Edwards AFB/Dryden FRC! Are any of the hangars there useable? Just wondering. Are there any plans to flatten the lakebed so aircraft can land on it? Thanks so much for sharing the pics. Do you plan on including the HL-10, X-1E, and X-15 mockup that are out on display at Dryden? Sorry for all the questions. :-lol

CX001The lakebed is great to land on. I left it rough so you will kick up some dust though. Right now the Hangers are all static but after the scenery is done I hope to animate some doors and add polygons to the insides of a few hangers so that you can see the interior. I would also like to make the two main hangers in the Dryden Area have transparent see though windows on both sides. Again as time permits and my technical expertise increasesDennis

I am looking forward to this. The default scenery has always left me disappointed for such an important location (anyway important to someone who is nuts for space, test pilot, experimental a/c stuff). My favorite a/c is the X-15, always made sure I visited it when going to the old Smithsonia air and space building (the castle and a couple of quonset huts with the capsules). It would be nice if there was a detailed VC version for FS2002.Steve

WOW, that Beriev looks awesome!!! :-eekThe Edwards scenery looks like a winner, too...ya know, it kinda reminds me of that TV series..."Air Force", I think it was called...anyway, as far as I remember it was about an USAF test pilot and his family who lived and worked there...Now all we need would be a few cool X-planes to complement the scenery :-hah ...!

Just wondering... Those people in the Beriev, do they look a bit small? Or are they just "little people" :-)Otherwise, looking great...

Well, not much as WIP images as such, buthttp://www.flightsim.no/ubb/ultimatebb.php...c;f=21;t=001980Note that I'm ONLY doing panel work here, and I think only two pics has pictures of it. It's a 30 image series with (norwegian, sorry, heavily compressed to about 770k for modem users) textual description, of a flight with some pretty nasty weather enroute. Highest cruise altitude was FL260 in a Cessna C421B.Suffice to say, it was a hellofaride. :D And pretty cool clouds, which was the actual "goal" of the flight. The model is a very old version, a HD crash has required a full remake of the model. But I expect it to be a lot more complete.
