December 19, 200223 yr Hi,in FSDS 2 how do you make, say, a wing visible from the cockpit. I understood this with ver 1, but in ver2 I have tried some condition settings but the wings are not showing up.ThanksJohn
December 19, 200223 yr I thought I remember reading in a brief review that this is controlled by tagging the item as part of a virtual cockpit. I may be off, but I think this is the case.-John
December 19, 200223 yr there is a nice tutorial on this on the ABACUS website along with the latest patch for the program that also includes an update to the help files for this. basicaly there is a command under the model/make new model that you check for VC then you copy all the parts you want to b visible from the inside and copy those parts to the VC model.Brian
December 19, 200223 yr I believe this is the thread where Fr. Bill expands on how to make a VC.http://ftp.avsim.com/cgi-bin/dcforum/dcboa...ewmode=threaded
December 19, 200223 yr thanks for the replies. This sounds like making a VC ..is there a way to make the wings display when you look left or right from the 2d panel ?thanks
December 20, 200223 yr >thanks for the replies. >>This sounds like making a VC ..is there a way to make the >wings display when you look left or right from the 2d panel If you build the VC and include the wings in the 'interior' model grouping, then they will appear in both the 3d and 2d panels! :)By making my VC panel as hi-res and clear as possible, the pilot can actually use the instruments on the copilot's side by simply looking forward-right while adjusting the mixture control, for example... :)
December 20, 200223 yr When you are in the main model, save the part. Then switch to VC and load the part. Load only the parts that you will actually see.One thing to watch for- if for any reason you make a change to the part, like adding textures, moving it, etc., you have to delete it from the VC and reload it because the change is not automatically picked up.John Woodward
