Have you tried this version - ara_mcdonnell_douglas_a-4e_skyhawk.zip from the AVSIM library.Have you tried reaching the authors to ask for their assistance? I tried this version and its landing gear seemed mushy in that it bounced on takeoff and landing but became violent when using brakes.If this is your problem with the file you have, I suggest you look in the aircraft.cfg contact points area for the compressions and damping ratio for the landing gear.
