AeroPath – Automatic Gate-to-Gate Flight Tracking

Featured Replies

Hi everyone,

I’m Andy, the developer of AeroPath, a flight companion and automatic flight-tracking application for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 and Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024.

AeroPath has been developed around a simple principle: once the simulator and aircraft are detected, the application should manage the flight automatically without requiring the pilot to press manual Start Flight or End Flight buttons.

It follows the aircraft from the departure gate through taxi, takeoff, climb, cruise, descent and landing, before completing the flight when the aircraft is parked at the destination.

Current features include:

  • Automatic gate-to-gate flight detection

  • SimBrief flight-plan integration

  • Live satellite map with route and waypoint tracking

  • Flight history and detailed flight reports

  • Full flight replay

  • Landing-rate and landing-performance analysis

  • Live METAR and TAF information

  • Airport Explorer with SID, STAR and approach plotting

  • Real-world airline route database

  • VFR route suggestions

  • Aircraft profiles

  • Online Pilot Portal and public live map

  • Group Flight planning tools

AeroPath is currently at version 3.1.0 and supports both MSFS 2020 and MSFS 2024. X-Plane 12 support is also included, although I am posting here primarily to gather feedback from Microsoft Flight Simulator users.

AeroPath is a commercial application with a 48-hour trial, but the main purpose of this post is to introduce the project and hear directly from flight sim users.

I would especially appreciate feedback about:

  • Features you consider essential in a flight-tracking application

  • Information you would like included in flight reports

  • Improvements that would make flight replay more useful

  • Any aircraft or simulator compatibility issues encountered during testing

Further details, screenshots and the download are available here:

I’m happy to answer questions and will continue posting meaningful development updates in this thread.
