March 27, 200323 yr Great shape on that Citation....I'm afraid I cheated when I built the windows for my recent Microlight release....I made the textures transparent, then applied an alpha mask where I wanted the windows to be. I used dynamic shine to add the right bit of reflection to the windows. The drawback to this method (I was warned ahead of time), is close examination of any diagonal lines in my window/canopy shows a bit of stairstepping. One can mitigate this a bit by using large (1024x1024) textures for such areas, although I kept with smaller 256x256 textures. On my next release, I'm likely to examine Dave's method more closely to give it a try. My Microlight release was a "proof of concept" release--namely the concept that I could make something that looked even a bit like what I was modelling.... I tried to build up as many skills as I could....
March 27, 200323 yr Well that's one thing I like about FSDS2, you can take less time learning how to actually use it and get to making planes than GMAX. It's not as good a performer as GMAX but at least it's very easy to use.
