Recommended Posts

hii am experiencing a problem with the aircraft range. maybe anyone can give me a hinti have a Boeing 737-BBJ which has four tanksValues in US gallonsCenter1: 4181Center2: 4181LWing: 1718RWing: 1718now my problem is. according to boeing specs, the range of a BBJ is 6800 nm. however in fs2002 i only get 3200 nm.i assume the factor for fuel consumption is wrong.does anyone have an idea how i can change aircraft.cfg or .air file to reach real range?thxMartin

Hello Martin.I am not sure about the fuel quantities, but keep in mind 6,800 nm is the MAX range for a BBJ. It really depends on the options (that range is only achievable with several auxiliary fuel tanks installed in the cargo hold). Most models sold fall way short of that target, due to consumer options, such as more lavish interiors, which due to max takeoff weight are a tradeoff for fuel. What BBJ are you flying? Ariane's? Do you know which version they modelled?

The fuel_flow_scalar is used to regulate fuel consumption. The easy way to adjust this is to download AFSD and run it while running the sim to test your air file. This program is excellent for engine, aerodynamics, weight, and other data. This program will give you real time fuel consumption and estimated range. You can get it here at AVSIM or at this link:http://perso.wanadoo.fr/hsors/FS_Soft/afsd.htmlMilton
