Northeast Autumn Tour – Part 1

Tour Overview

This is the first installment of a planned multi-session tour through the northeastern United States and Quebec’s Saint Lawrence region. The complete route covers more than 1,500 nautical miles and is expected to require at least four sessions.

Beginning in Washington, D.C., the tour follows the Appalachian Mountains northeast into Quebec and the Gaspé Peninsula, then returns along the Saint Lawrence River to Quebec City.

Part 1 Route Description

From Washington National (KDCA), we follow the Potomac River northwest to Harpers Ferry, where it passes through the Blue Ridge Mountains. We then continue to Frederick (KFDK) for our first landing. From there, U.S. Route 15 leads us northeast through Gettysburg to Harrisburg (KCXY) on the Susquehanna River. Next, we stop at Reading (KRDG) and Allentown (KXLL), flying over the photogrammetry scenery of downtown Allentown and nearby Bethlehem—the Lehigh Valley’s principal cities. Turning east into New Jersey, we land at Central Jersey Regional (47N), then pass Brunswick, Edison, Elizabeth, and Newark en route to Teterboro (KTEB). At Teterboro, we transfer to helicopters for a tour of New York City landmarks, making brief helipad stops before finishing at LaGuardia’s Art Deco Pan American Clipper Terminal (KLGA).
