Blurry Textures

Featured Replies

I've recently tried my first repaint (of the default 737) and all went well apart it suffers from the same problem as the default FS2002 planes. That is to say when looked at side on the wording and textures look fine but when you change the viewing angle the textures blur and take a while to come back in focus. This can also be seen in the preview shot of the planes when you pick which one you want to fly. Many of the 3rd Party planes I have do not have this problem and the textures remain crisp no matter what the angle. Why is this? Is this to do with the model I am repainting (are the default planes GMAX or FSDS?), or the way I'm repainting it?

Hi,The blurryness from non-side views is usually a result of mip maps having been generated. The best thing to do is to remove the mip maps from the texture itself, or not to generate them in the first place when you convert them in Imagetool.VinPMDGwww.precisionmanuals.comhttp://www.vinscimone.com/dancnkid.gif

This doesn't really answer your question, but I've noticed in FS2002 that if you zoom in and back out again it loads the high res aircraft textures. Not tried it in FS2004.JohnVisual Flighthttp://www.visualflight.co.uk

Great.I turned Mip Maps off in the FS2002 settings and that seems to have made it better - I'll take a look at taking them out of the image.Thanksjj
