Trying to animate a control stick for a VC in FSDS2. Its a type similar to a Cub's or WWII type aircraft. I've not been able to figure out how to make a single control stick go fore_aft and l_r .Any ideas?

Never fails. I'll spend hours on a problem before posting on the forum for help, and not 30min later I'll figure it out myself. :-doh Anyway, If anyone is interested, I'd be happy to share my solution.

All you did was create a small box or somehtin simple. made that the for and aft then made the stick the left and right and attached the left and right stick to the for and aft. I never figured it out myself. I have to credit bill lyons for lettin me in on that. Am I right? :)

Yep, sounds very similar. I basically made one stick and copied it. The original I did l_r and the copy I made fore_aft. Then I did the child-parent thing with them. The last thing I did was to remove all the polygons from the second joystick, thus keeping the child-parent relationship intact but making it not visible during the l_r motions.

Hint: you didn't have to delete the polygons (because you still keep the points - you still "pay" the cost of rendering the copy.)I believe you could have just tagged the part as a "hierarchy" part and kept the funcionality, without the geometry.Felix/FFDSPegasus Aviation Design
