Any FDE specialists here?

Recommended Posts

Hi, I'm flying a Airbus A345 (by Simubuild) with my new A345/6 panel (using Eric Marcianos' A340 gauges). Now I know a/c from FS2k2 tend to fly a bit more nose up in FS9 ( something to do with wing twist?)...but as you can see from the pic (expediting a SID...level flight...heavy a/c but still 10 deg nose up?) the AOA of this a/c is more than I can stand!:-lol.Can anyone help me to fix this?...or give advice as to what i should tweak? http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/60321.jpgregardsEd

Ed,You can adjust the angle of attack during cruise by changing the "cruise_lift_scalar" value in the "Flight Tuning" section of the "aircraft.cfg" file. Increased values will lower the nose in cruise. Be advised, however, that this adjustment will probably change aircraft performance in other flight profiles. It can shorten take-off distance, reduce fuel consumpsion, and increase "float" at landing. These performance components can then be adjusted using other "aircraft.cfg" parameters:(increase take-off distance) Reduce "elevator_effectiveness" in "flight_tuning" and-or Reduce "fuel_flow_gain" in "TurbineEngineData"(increase fuel consumption) Increase "fuel_flow_scalar" in "GeneralEngineData"(reduce "float" lift on landing) Reduce "lift_scalar" in "flaps.x"Save a copy of your original "aircraft.cfg" file before you start tweaking all this stuff. Test the aircraft after each change. Adjusting FDE parameters requires patience and lots of testing to get it right.Hope this helps, Dave
