July 20, 200421 yr When editing an xxx.air file with Aired, what is the best way of increasing the cruise speed of the aircraft (single engine piston)? In other words, should the drag components be reduced, or should the power be increased. Also, is there a way to increase/decrease the gear retraction times with Aired, or is this something that is hard coded into the gmax model itself? As you can probably tell, this is the first (and likely only) time that I've ever putzed around with an airfile.ThanksTim13
July 21, 200421 yr If you are using FS2002/FS2004, then check the contact points section of the aircraft's aircraft.cfg file. You can change the extension/retraction times for each landing gear. The aircraft.cfg file overrides the *.air file, if an entry is in the aircraft.cfg file.Section 1004 is the *.air file equivalent but it may not be in the *.air file since the aircraft.cfg file has this entry.W. July 22, 200421 yr The best way is to make it like the real aircraft. Do you have good specs? If not changes to power will not effect the landing glide performance. Fix that first, ie descent angle at right speed. Then do the engine power to get the correct climb rates.Ian
