I use Daniel Steiner's FSSound that hooks up to DirectSound. Seems to work rather well.

I think you are trying to use the versions out of the SD2GAU17.ZIP file, which may be out of date. Try searching for a later version of FSSound.dll, either in a panel file - http://www.fsnordic.net/ , Embraer panels - Bill Grabowski or by itself.In any case, you may have to add the [OLDMODULES] section to your FS9.CFG file[OLDMODULES]FSSound.gau=1W. You are correct, but I now have sound working with DirectSound.Thanks though for the info, because you are correct, I was using the version from sd2gau17.zip.
