Aircraft stability on the ground

Recommended Posts

Hi, when rolling down the runway, if I turn the aircraft at speed it wants to easily tip onto the wingtip (rolls over). What settings do I need to experiment with in the air or cfg files to make it more stable? Thanks,Nick.

Hi Nick, :-)A few things to check:1. Ensure that the main gear and nose/tail gear coordinates are correct, especially the latitudinal for mains, and longitudinal for the center gear.2. Check deflection angle for the center gear not excessive. If you have too much weight there, the gear will "bite" instead of understeer.3. Ensure your CoG is at or near the waterline/thrustline (or avg of thrustline on a 4 engine).4. Ensure you have weight properly distributed latitudinally for wing tanks and engines. Correct coordinates for these make for very stable aircraft.Hope this helps.Milton
