The only way is to place a VC .fx light inside the cockpit. The inside of a model may be lighted, but not the exterior... :(Try placing the VC .fx light at the same position as the "eyepoint" coordinates in the aircraft.cfg file, but remove the x offset (make it 0) so the "light" will be on the centerline, just at eyelevel.
