October 20, 200619 yr Does anyone know the formula to figure out the flight path vector. The B737-800 has the bitmaps for the FPV but has a of 0 which means it will never show!!! I don't know if the ACES team plans on putting it in later or not. But why wait. Thanks,Chris
October 20, 200619 yr Commercial Member We've generally come to the consensus that:(A:VELOCITY BODY Y, m/s) (A:VELOCITY BODY Z, m/s) atg2 rddg is the correct measure for alpha (degrees) if you wish to include the wind component.beta (degrees) would likewise be:(A:VELOCITY BODY X, m/s) (A:VELOCITY BODY Z, m/s) atg2 rddgSimply leave of the rddg if you want your units in rads. All that's left to do is properly scale the velocity vector/FPA marker based on the NEW field of view in FSX, which is ~75% of what is was in FS9 (could possibly be closer to 70%). You'll have to confirm the exact FoV as I haven't gotten around to it yet. I believe the old scale was ~22-24 for degrees, so a ballpark would be something like ~16-18.--Jon Jon Blum Vertical Reality Simulations
October 21, 200619 yr Jon,Thanks for the help. Can I assume the Alpha is the Vertical path and Beta is the Horizontal?Chris
