Panel Config Query

Recommended Posts

In some PanelConfig files (such as DF Baron 58), there is a line that reads: VIEW_www_EYE=x.xxx,y.yyy,z.zzz (where w is the view diection). Anybody know what the x,y,z values do? Alex Reid

The x,y,z values determine the sight line in fs9 window views. x is height, y is lateral (IIRC) and z is the relative bearing in degrees, i.e. 45.0 is FWD RIGHT; 90.0 is RIGHT, etc, etc. Play with them and you'll see what does what.Tweaking those values can be handy if you're putting a detailed 2D panel into an aircraft with a second-rate VC. Sometimes you can arrange the 2D windows to coincide with the VC windows by adjusting xx,yy,zz by a few inches or degrees. If it works, it's a nice way to have extensive 2D and VC panels.Glenn

Update...In emails off-forum, Alex and I worked out that I had misread his forum post. I replied referring to the VIEW nnn DIR line in panel.cfg files and I thought he was referring to the DEFAULT Baron, but he meant the DREAM FLEET Baron. "DF", get it?.I have no idea what VIEW nnn EYE means in a panel.cfg file. I've never seen that. Alex says he has seen it in other add-ons, however.Just setting the record straight....Cheers,Glenn
