Transparent texture for glass

Featured Replies

How can one create a transparent texture for glass such as the control tower windscreen or aircraft canopy? andCould one mix this texture with other textures on a plate of 512x512?I am using 'Paintshop pro v7' and 'gmax' for my scenery creation. Is there a tutorial or some kind of documentation?Your answers and help will be appreciated immensly.

Yes!Very basically one color out of the pallette is marked as transparent. On panel bitmaps, this is 0,0,0 (black)http://www.mnwright.btinternet.co.uk/Is a good site to start. It has the utilities needed to achieve your goals, somthing England is having problems doing :-). Home by Friday I think!

If you use the new DXT format for Fs2002 you can make it even easier. Just add an alpha channel and you can set the level of transparancy then by using different gray colors. This means that a certain color is not always transparant, but you can define a certain position as transparant. You can then use ImageTool (I still have problems using DXTBmp with alpha channels) to make the DXT bitmap.ArnoMember NL2000 Teamhttp://home.wanadoo.nl/arno.gerretsen

If the world should blow itself up, the last audible voice would be that of an expert saying it can't be done.
