Hi all, I was mumbling to a friend about the lack of a scenery SDK for fs2k2 and why it is taking so long to bring out. He knows a little about scenery making and pointed me to the ms page with all the other SDK's. "There is a gMax scenery SDK" there, he says!!! It has a basic tutorial for making an object and placing it, plus the ImageTool and MakeMdl programs. Can this possibly be the Scenery SDK???? with nothing further to come????? That tutorial you pointed at is surely not a SDK. That is something that should have been in the documentation of GMax when FS was released and not take 6 months to make and then call it SDK.I hope that the scenery and terrain SDK will inlcude tools to make them mesh scenery (new resample.exe) and also in the scenery SDK an explanation of all BGLC scenery commands.But right now I am only hoping that some more information will be here before Fs2004 comes :(.Arno

Well I'm waiting for some kind of scenery SDK to address a few issues I need to overcome to produce my scenery package, and I know that there are many people like myself. The main issues I need resolved are a way to create and alter fs2002-style coasts, and the placement of mesh-hugging decalls (for grass polygons, roads, and coasts).If any M$ people are reading this pllllleeeeeeeeaaaaaaasssseee release that bloody SDK, cos there are many many people who could really use it!!Thats my 2 cents:(JarradPerth Western Australia

Yes the Terrain SDK has nothing to do with the Gmax tutorial. Even thouhg I will sound annoying because I've been repeating this again and again, I expect from MS to release a terrain SDK that explains and enables us to:-Modify the new coastlines in an easy way-Modify the landclass layout for a specific spot in an easy way-Modify the roads, rivers etc in an easy way-Detailed info to Modify the AFD data including ATC commandsAns let's hope this is for soonCheers!Michel

Well everything that is released from Microsoft is more then welcome as usual. We, as scenery designers, are anxious to get ahold of the terrain SDK but the actual released SDKs can make other develpoers happy.Personnaly I am frustrated that the terrain SDK is not out yet because my scenery is on hold but to throw a positive mood on the thing, I would probably immagine and hope that MS is delaying the terrain one because (and I hope) they are coding descent tools to modify the things we want to modify.Let's hope this is really what is hapening ;)Michel
