July 30, 200223 yr Recently I've been trying to learn how to use Gmax and I have seen some screenshots of scenery with these really cool looking chain link fences. Most of them are macros to be used with Airport 2.60, but I was wondering if it is possible to create chain linked fences with Gmax and if so how?
July 30, 200223 yr Those fences would probably have been made in FSDS and converted to .api format. They would have been created by making an object with dimensions that have one side as 0. The chainlink effect is created with textures that are partly transparent. The texture is put onto this object and the chainlink effect is created. That probably seems a bit sketchy, maybe someone else could explain it better. This method of construction probably applies to Gmax as well.:-wave
May 15, 200521 yr Hi,I put the same question here. Searching a good, step by step tutorial for making fences (with probable PSP and GMAX... working with FS2002). Building my own airport, but I have to dig very deep to learn all the trics in order to make it wright. Can anybody help please ?Thanks anyway. Jos
May 15, 200521 yr See if this helps you. The tutorial is for a picket fence, but the method is the same regardless of type.http://www.oregon-coast.net/Tutorials/Buil...ences/index.htmhttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/116464.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/116465.jpgLou
May 15, 200521 yr For some samples, I've published a variety of gmax fences in http://library.avsim.net/download.php?DLID=64187They are a bit long, some with curves and corners: the idea is to take the bits that work for you. I've got them with and without barbed wire, and both black and silver I believe. These were simplified and adapted from the work of Marci Dunn, with permission.Jon My blog
