World Entry information

Recommended Posts

Guest MiguelSantos

Hi guys,I was using Airport 2.6, but I found a little aukward to work, so I'm trying Groundmaker now, and it seems more easier. However, one thing is not! How do I insert in FS2002 the World Menu entry data? I inserted the object in the scenery but it only has the name of the airport to enter, and I can't see it in the GoTo Airport inside FS2002.Help please.Thank you.Miguel

Hi Miguel,Use the "Insert world menu entry" button. You can then specify the name of the position, something like Apron A or Runway 23, etc.The name of the airfield will be used for the global name of the entry. You have edited that in the preferences and can also change it there.Arno

Hi Arno,Sorry but I didn't get it. I'm newbie to scenery design, so sorry.I already inserted a "World Menu Entry" Object near the runway (I'm only testing right now, so I only put a runway and 3 poly to make taxiways). The properties of this object only asks for a name. So, I don't know how to make this scenery appear at the GO TO Airport menu at FS2002. Another strange thing is that when was setting the location coordinates, it doesn't accept at all the decimal values I want to write there, like 38.78333333 or -8.90345. Always say that the decimal number is wrong, but I tried with the comma and the period!!BTW I have Beta 4 version taken yesterday on their site.Thank you in advance Arno.Best regards,Miguel

The properties of this object >only asks for a name. That's correct, it will ask you for the name of the entry. Somwthing like Apron, or Runway 04, etc.>So, I don't know how to make this scenery appear at the GO >TO Airport menu at FS2002. When you make the BGL file (Generate -> Create scenery file) and then load it into FS you will get the airport in the GoTo menu (you must use the Addon setion of the menu, there is a radio button in the lower right corner of the FS window for that). The airport name you enter in the Project settings in GroundMaker will be used for the name of the entry and you will find the position you made in the entry.>Another strange thing is that when was setting the location >coordinates, it doesn't accept at all the decimal values I >want to write there, like 38.78333333 or -8.90345. Hi Arno,Thank you very much.Know I understand the sceme, however, is there a way to add the airport to the General Search at GOTO Airport? Maybe with AFCAD?The measure thing, I only solved by setting the Regional settings at Windows to English UK (it was portugese!!). Only then the Groundmaker accepts my decimal values...BTW, everyone could pont to me any library where I can find gates, stairs, lamps, hangars, signs and other stuff? And thanks again.Miguel

Yes, you can use AFCAD to make an entry in the general search area. And for the macros, I would check here (avsim library) or flightsim.com. You will surely find something there.Arno
