Light on object

Featured Replies

Thanks Mike,I'll have a look at your procedure.Anyway, I also think that a good _LM texture can't be missing to get a good night ground lighting (I've always used such a method before Gmax, and I guess I'll use it for a while still......)

Hi,For my scenery I did many tries for dynamic lighting. I followed the landing light tutorial without any success. Actually I see now the grouping tip being important. But also my triangle was falling from the 3D light pole to the ground vertically and now I think it should be resting horizontally on the ground like he a/c landing light? As for dynamic light on objects, no success either so I think no Gmax light is recordnized dynamiclly on FS objects. Exept the beam or strobes type of light? Finally I tried the "fake" cone light at a final hope. I did a cone in Gmax falling from the light pole , I then mapped a bright material on it and this material texture has an Alpha Channel with transparency fading out at the base of the cone. What happens in FS2002 is that the cone looks pretty and soft but the transparency does not allow any object behind or through the cone to be visible. That means if there is a terminal behind it the terminal won't show through the cone transaprent aspect. Also if an aircraft is parked at the gate and the lihgt cone falls at the plane, the plane part inside the cone will seem cut and not visible through the transparency. This is why I droped this idea as well.Cheers!Michel
