November 8, 200223 yr Hey gang,I go to airnav and my DOD flight books and they say the runways at Little Rock are 43 and 42 degrees. But when I put them ove the aerial photo form straight down off of terraserver, they dont match up.now what is wrong here...is it the runway heading setting or is it the photo? If its t ephoto can I rotate it anyway?thanks allhttp://www.avsim.com/posky/images/banners/gary_ban.gif Gary Hayes My Youtube No i'm not a "real" pilot, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night.
November 8, 200223 yr happens all the time...perhaps its caused by a different projection of the world onto flat coordinate system....you either rotate ur photo, or rotate ur runway.Bob B
November 13, 200223 yr Hey Gary!Terra server likely uses True north. Your Little Rock chart is probably in magnetic... ie. if and airport runway is listed as 285 Degrees... and the magnetic variation is 20 degrees west, the true heading of the runway would be 265 degrees true.Later!
