Rotation in gMax.

Featured Replies

Recently I have encountered lots of difficulty to make rotation animation work in gMax. It is simple animation of horizontally oriented cyllinder rotating about its verical axis. One time it works, but then another not. After many attempts I think I have pinpointed the problem that there might be strict correlation between: a. reference coordinate systemb. use pivot point c. and options in Customization Preference Animation.Does anyone have any experience in this subject?Ted

Don't know anything about that correlation. Animations work fine for me (also rotations). Apart from the known fact that you always need to have one statics objects next to your animated ones, otherwise it will not work.Of course the pivot is needed to set the center of rotation correct. I haven't changed much of the Customization Preferences you mention.Hope this helps (a bit) :)Arno

If the world should blow itself up, the last audible voice would be that of an expert saying it can't be done.

No there is no correlation. It was my blind lead. My problem in not working animation was "flatten" switch in makemdl.exe. It killed animation in my scenery anytime I envoked it, erroneously thinking that it really makes scenery area flat. In reality it "converts scenery to single mesh" and wipes animation dead on. Ted
