Layers and roads

Featured Replies

I'm now a couple of weeks into my first scenery design project. There's still plenty I need to learn, but I'm getting better at it. I have run into a problem though that has me stumped. I used Drawr8 to place a ground texture in my scenery. In doing so, it covered up many of my poly's. I was able to get most of them back by changing their layer assignment (BTW - I'm using AP v2.60 build 157). However my ground texture also concealed a road that I made. If I try to change the layer assignment for the road it disappears. I would like to change the layer assignment of the ground texture instead (it's a 3D object), but I can't figure out how to change layer assignments for the 3D objects. Is there a way to do this, and if so, how? Alternatively, is there a layer I can assign to the road that will still keep it visible (it's currently at level 16)? Any help will be appreciated.

You can best draw roads without a layer number assigned, then they come at layer 20 if I remember correct. This should allow it to display over polygons. If you have made the ground polygon as a 3D object you can't give it a layer number. That's why it is not a good idea to make them as 3D objects. If it only contains the ground polygon, then you can replace the PerspectiveCall by a LayerCall. But this requires some knowledge of SCASM to do.Arno
