December 3, 200223 yr Hi,I might have asked this question to some of you earlier (at least Arno). Is it possible to achieve parts, which are configured as "lines" (in FSDS1/2) that also changes with the sun, so that when one side is a bit darker, the side in the direct sunlight is a bit brighter, just like normal polygons, parts work. Now the "lines"-objects are constantly bright (just like the autogen trees also seems to be, to give you a reference to what I mean...).Thanks in advance.
December 3, 200223 yr I think you can forget about this post. It seems like fsds2 actually makes some sort of shadowing, but it doesn't look good. Perhaps these line-objects really weren't made for shadowing. ;o)
December 4, 200223 yr Author Commercial Member I think you are right there. There isn't much to shadow either, it are really thin lines with a certain color. If the performance is not critical I think the best work around is to make a small 3D tube or so.ArnoMember Netherlands 2000 Scenery Team[a href=http://home.wanadoo.nl/arno.gerretsen]http://home.wanadoo.nl/arno.gerretsen/banner.jpg[/a] Arno If the world should blow itself up, the last audible voice would be that of an expert saying it can't be done. December 4, 200223 yr Yes, that is a possible alternative sometimes. But the good thing with "lines" is that they are clearly visible even from a greater distance. It is easy to spot them, easier than normal parts.
December 5, 200223 yr Author Commercial Member You call that a good thing, I think it is more a disadvantage most of the time :DArnoMember Netherlands 2000 Scenery Team[a href=http://home.wanadoo.nl/arno.gerretsen]http://home.wanadoo.nl/arno.gerretsen/banner.jpg[/a] Arno If the world should blow itself up, the last audible voice would be that of an expert saying it can't be done.
