FS2k2 using only 512px mip on a 1024 px texture.

HiI have the following problem:I made a ground texture using a 1024 x 1024 texture. Making the textures 256 colours, the whole 1024 pixels are showed. But as soon as I let the colours at 16Mil and convert the image using DXTBmp, it seems as only the 512 pixels mip is loaded, the pictures looks very blury and .. yes 512 pixels style. Any chance to force FS2K2 using the full 1024 texture? The error appeared after I reinstalled my system with WinXP.ANY HELP IS APPRECIATED!THANKS in adcance & happy holidaysMario

I am not sure if DXTBmp also has this option, but BMP2000 had an option that set the maximum size of the bitmap. In BMP2000 it was set to 256x256 by default and when you loaded a 512x512 it was forced into 256x256. Maybe something similar is happening now?Otherwise you could try converting it with ImageTool, that has never given big problems with big bitmaps for me.Arno

Hi Arnothanks for your quick answer. No, Before I upgraded my system, the method worked perfect: 1024 bitmap -> converted using DXTBmp -> fully 1024 vissible in FS2K2. First after I upgraded to WinXP I got that problem.is there any line in the .cfg file I have to add or change? I remember heaving heard of something like that.regardsMario

I don't know DXTBmp that good, but in BMP2000 you could set it in the menu (Preferences). So you didn't have to change a file manual.Arno

Yes .. I will give BMP2000 a try.I remember having read somewhere that you can tell FS2K2 in the Fs2002.cfg file to use the full 1024 texture mip... or am I wrong?regardsMario

I think that's the slider where you set the texture quality in the settings.Arno
