Disappearing GMAX Objects

Recommended Posts

Guest grimmy

Hey guys,I've noticed a problem with my GMAX created objects. At certain angles they will completly disappear. This is happening for my runways & control tower. All the taxiways created in airport remain in view.Anyideas? Pretty sure I've got the whole area flattened ok.thx chaps

Hi GrimmyI have experienced this problem as well, but only with bigger objects, example is a bridge with a span of about 500 meters. This bridge will disappear when I look at it, in the same direction as the bridge crosses the water, from both directions.I'm not sure about this, but I can't recall seeing this before I upgraded gmax to v1.2. So that's a theory. I have also tried using middleman and not using it during export with the same result.Regards,Kjell ArildNorway

I think it might have been caused be lack of subdivsions in the polygons. Not 100% sure yet though.Thx Kjell

How are the GMax objects placed with GMax self or via FsRegen? I sounds a bit like a v2 problem to me.Arno

If the world should blow itself up, the last audible voice would be that of an expert saying it can't be done.

I have the same problem with library objects made in Gmax and imported to Airport 2.60.I tried to make some approah lights but they disappeared when I approached the airport. They reappear when I'm on top of them. The lights at the other end of the runway looks fine until I'm on top of them, then they disappear too :-(I gave up and exported directly from Gmax but it would have been nice to know what the problem was.

Really sounds like a v2 value problem. Try to increase the v2 value in the RefPoint a bit and see if that solves the problem.Arno
