Refpoint() Lat/Long positioning

Recommended Posts

Guest

This is bit of a long shot, here goesI am finding it progressively tiresome positioning and modifying the location of objects, in scasm, using Lat Long coordinates, rather than distanceI have tried using the Transpose() command to offset objects, but wonder whether this is inefficent for those dreaded Frame RatesIs their any utility that may convert Grid Ref's into distance, or even a ratio/formula. Another thought is that even adding and subtracting Grid Ref's is tricky, might it be possible to set up a formula in ExcelAppreciate your thoughtsRegardsDave

SCASM can calculate new RefPoint for you, as an offset of the last one. With for example this code:

RefPoint( 7 :label 1 d 200 100 v1= 5000 v2= 500 )

You would calculate a point which is 200 meter to the east and 100 meters to the north.I use the same technique for my Schiphol scenery. One I store the lat/lon of the center point in a GRP command (this is just for SCASM, makes no BGL code) and then I calculate the new RefPoints like the line above.Hope this answers you question :)Arno

Hi arnoThat seems ideal, for what I want.It will seem so much easyier, less complicated than using the transpose command, toothanks againRegardsDave
