March 6, 200323 yr I am interested to know how the trees were created for the Fly Tampa scenery. Which scenery software was used? Any ideas.? The trees seem to be round and rotate as you move around, you do not see a polygon. Could some one help? ThanksLetats

March 6, 200323 yr Commercial Member I had a look, it's the same technique as the trees of Gerrish or the ones I use. But instead of a single plane it seems like they have used two planes in some sort of / shape or so, that way it looks less flat from the top.ArnoMember Netherlands 2000 Scenery Team[link:home.wanadoo.nl/arno.gerretsen]Arno's FlightSim World for scenery design hints, tips and other tricks... March 7, 200323 yr Are you saying that they are using gmax? Also when you fly around the trees the texture facing you rotates.Otherwise what would be the best way of creating trees in gmax without using X shaped polygons ?Letats.
March 7, 200323 yr Commercial Member No, I can't see if they used GMax or not. You can also make such trees with SCASM. Remember both produce a BGL and can give the same result. And yes, just like the trees of Gerrish and my own trees it uses the RotateToAircraft command to rotate the tree always to your point of view. This can also be done in both BGLC and SCASM.ArnoMember Netherlands 2000 Scenery Team[link:home.wanadoo.nl/arno.gerretsen]Arno's FlightSim World for scenery design hints, tips and other tricks...
