Scaling GMax Objects.

Featured Replies

If you create a stock GMax object (such as a mast) to be used in several locations what is the sensible way of scaling this for each mast to get the height right? Is it better to scale the object in GMax before exporting or scale it when adding to the scenery file?boneshttp://fsaviation.net

If the change in altitude is not really much I would just scale the macro up when placing it. So instead of 0.5 you enter 1 for example to get a mast twice as high. Of course this means that the radius will also be twice as big, but as long as you are not talking about a mast that is 10 times higher I don't think you will really see this effect.Of course you can also rescale in GMax everytime, but this is a lot of work as each mast will be custom made then.

If the world should blow itself up, the last audible voice would be that of an expert saying it can't be done.

Thank you Arno.I was intending the mast to fit a number of sites and all fall in the 200m - 300m height band. Hopefully that shouldn't cause radius problems..boneshttp://fsaviation.net
