Addon Scenery

Featured Replies

Is there any way that the Addon Scenery could be used in the Flight Planner instead of the default scenery. I would like to make a flight between 2 airports from my Addon scenery's, but the button to the Addon Scenery is not workingNils

In order to use add-on scenery with the flight planner, FS has to be aware of the scenery's AFD data. But as far as I have heard, nobody has figured out how to add new airports to the list in FS... even the new AFCAD can only edit existing scenery. In the docs they state that at the moment you can't add new scenery, but it's planned for a future version. My guess is that future version won't be released until MS coughs up a scenery SDK.I'm curious about why the Addon Scenery button isn't working for you, though. Do you mean nothing happens when you click it, or is it grayed-out or something?

The Addon Scenery button is grayed-out when I'm in Flight Planner mode. I have read in the help file in FS9, and it says that it should be possible to select ad-on in planner mode. I think it is strange, that so many people made nice scenery's, better than the default ones, and then the only way to use them is as a stand alone scenery, not as 2 airports in a scedule flight from A to B. In FS2002 this feature was working.

Ah yes, I see what you're talking about. I don't use the built-in flight planner in FS9, so I hadn't seen that button before. But mine is grayed-out too. My guess is that it only works, as I said, if your addon scenery uses the new FS9-style AFD information, and none of them do yet. I think we'll have to wait for an SDK to get this resolved.
