December 24, 200322 yr On my system (Windows XP) if I activate a window outside of AutoASM during Read Data, Write LWM or Write VTP the program enters a tight loop eventually emerging intact but not completing the operation. Background events also seem to trigger this as well. Usually I have no problems with BMP files less than 100mb. Larger seems to take enough time that something happens within Windows to cause the loop. I have told Christian Wright.Dick Boley KLBE regards, Dick near Pittsburgh, USA

December 26, 200322 yr Hi, Dick, I could see the same problem whem I clicked on the Microsoft Word window. Either AutoAsm stopped for about 30 seconds before completing or it just stopped for one second before completing. I have Word 95, which is ancient, so I tried some other programs. When I clicked on their windows while reading in an image, there was no perceptible effect on AutoAsm. I think it was Word that was the culprit, for some reason it was not returning control until maybe something timed out. I tried several other programs including Star Office, Gmax, LWMViewer, PSP - and another instance of AutoAsm! Could you try some of these programs, for example LWMViewer? Maybe it's just one or two programs that is causing that problem. Hope you had a great Christmas! Best regards, Chris
