May 6, 200224 yr I downloaded the replacement textures at:http://johannes.roussel.free.fr/haal/textures.htmIs there any way to install this so that it only affects Europe and not USA scenery? It looks good in UK and France where I have no landclass files but doesn't look too good over my US landclassed areas. Thanks.
May 6, 200224 yr Author Hi WilliamTodd.1) Create a new folder called "French Textures". Inside this folder, create two sub-folders... "scenery" and "texture". The folder can be placed anywhere on your hard-drive.2) Copy all the new French textures to the "texture" sub-folder.3) Make a copy of "worldlc.bgl" ( found in the 'C:Program FilesMicrosoft GamesFS2002scenery' folder ), and place it in the "scenery" sub-folder.4) Add the scenery with the Scenery Library. Now just activate it whenever you feel the need for a French landscape, and de-activate it when in the USA. The "scenery sub-folder could also contain smaller custom landclass BGLs, that will display with the new textures. 5) I also recommend copying all default ground textures in "C:Program FilesMicrosoft GamesFS2002SCENEDBWORLDtexture" and placing the copies in "C:Program FilesMicrosoft GamesFS2002Texture". Just copy the *.bmp files. This copying will make the default textures 'global' in nature, and will fill "holes" in ground texturing if a set happens to be incomplete. ( No need to 'move' or 'delete' anything. )6) If the autogen now refuses to work, then copy all "C:Program FilesMicrosoft GamesFS2002SCENEDBWORLDtexture*.agn" files to the new "texture" sub-folder. ( Again, no need to 'move' or 'delete' anything. ) If you don't like autogen, then skip this step. This same basic technique works in CFS2, as well, and may work in future M$ flightsims.:-sun1
