question: excluding runways

Featured Replies

Hi,I'm not an advanced scenerybuilder, so bear with me. I just downloaded James Belk's ak1.zip. It's a scenery of some primitive strips. However In Fs2004 one of the depicted strips is default (Yankee Creek 2). Is there a way to completely exclude an default airport ?Rob "Holland&Holland" de Vries http://www.emotipad.com/emoticons/Flying.gif"To go up, pull the stick back. To go down, pull the stick back harder"

Visit http://www.microsoft.com/games/flightsimulator/ , download and install the updated FS2004_BGLCOMP_SDK.exe. Search, download, and install from the library excbuilderv2.zip. You may also have to install MSXML4.0 - http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details...&displaylang=en and http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details...&DisplayLang=en to enable the new XML compiler. It may require two different things to delete the default airport. You could use Exclude Builder to define your exclude area and place the exclude *.bgl in the same folder as your AK1 scenery to see if it removes the airport. If not, open the saved *.xml file you created with Exclude Builder. Add a new section below the exclude and before the ending :Making all of the above TRUE, may not be what you want and you might have to experiments. You will have to recompile the *.xml with BGLCOMP.exe to make a new *.bgl.If the scenery was built for FS2002, then other problems may arise.W. Sieffert

Many thanks for the explanation. Gonna experiment like you suggested. The James Belk scenery is build for FS2002 though. Why is this problematic?Rob

Problematic in that the communications frequencies, navaids, and an entry into the Airport Selection Menu may not be available. That is why I said experiment with the "TRUE/FALSE" statements. If you delete the airport, more than likely, you won't have it in the Airport Selection Menu. AFCAD does deletes the airport but puts it back in the same file.W. Sieffert
