Can it be changed? The problem I have is that airport area (flat with no autogen) starts way too early. I would like to reduce it to place autogen there however I haven't been succesful so far.

If you mean the grass area you can only exclude it and place a new one that is more accurate for your airfield. This might also solve the autogen problem.Removing the flat area is not really possible.
