PolyB cutting off polygon parts?

Recommended Posts

Hi Per.This is a problem of VTP2 and FS9 that has been previously discussed. The shape restriction of VTP2 are fan-shape or line. Regarding the fan-shape: this has also been described as convex.Your shape is hiding or "shadowing" perimeter elements that describe the shape, and the sim is showing you just what is the problem.Split that complex shape into simpler elements ( square rectangle triangle ) and it will then display properly. You should be able to overlap the split-up poly parts to ensure there is no seam where they join.Dick

Per and Dick,While I was experimenting with PolyB, I ran into the same problem and didn't understand it, but solved it by splitting up the polygons. Fortunately, with FS Arch and PolyB you can rapidly edit and add polygons, so it is not a big deal. Once I help enough people use it so that I can see where the pitfalls are then I'll write a tutorial for PolyB, emphasizing the utility and the limitations.Scenery design involves a lot of detailed knowledge, and a programmers mentality, if not a programmers skill. PolyB is an attempt to make things easy enough that even beginners can rapidly make VTP2 polygons. Thanks again, Dick, for your knowledge and your programs that made PolyB possible.Jim
