AFD via XML - two questions:

Featured Replies

Hi all, I am back again after a short ( hmmm 4 month? ) break.I have two questions about XML and AFD. I was searching for the answers before my break and some of those problems may have been solved while I was away.So here they are:First question:While testing AFCAD, I developed a method how to force ATC to use crossing and non paraler runway by adding a kind of "runway star" that wides the angle of runways assumed paraler by AI. It worked on some configuraiton of airports. Meanwhile, one frenchman ( I forgot his name and I have it at my email at home, so I can mention him later ) greatly improved this method by finging out almost exact algorithms that AI pilots uses to select their runway. When I aply his algorythms, I can surely make any runway working with all aproach infromations etc... except one thing.I can not stop the aircrafts form landing on closed "tweak" runways. So the question is - did anyone of you make progrees this way?Second question:In updated version of BGLCOMP in Approach explanation, there is a link to a document, that describes legs and their parameters. Unfortulately this document is charged 200$ and that is very much for a poor guy like me :C . So the question is - did anyone of you break those codes and now what the do mean ? Or is there some free alternative of those documents? Or any explanation of only the most important leg types, so I can continue with developing sceneriies withoud paying hal of my month salary for document, that I'll use only few lines from it? Thanx for your answers.Marky ParkyaliasFilip Dvorak

Google search the internet for ARINC 424 or ARINC Specification 424. Here are several helpful ones:http://www.rockwellcollins.com/fms/viewdoc...c=281&todo=viewhttp://www.garmin.com/manuals/CNX80Integra...Newsletter3.pdfhttp://www.ecacnav.com/files/iss3_0.pdfATC only uses ILS or visual approaches to a runway. Any others listed in the GPS are for the User to practice those approaches. You could spend many hours designing all the approaches for a particular runway, only to have ATC vector the AI and User to the first ILS or if none, visual approach. ATC doesn't look at RNAV, GPS, approaches.W. Sieffert
