June 7, 200422 yr Hi there.I was wondering whether anyone might be able to shed some light on a coding problem I've got. I'm trying to program some simple tree objects so that they respond only to ambient light in the same way that autogen trees do.I've read the tutorials and the other scasm documentation, but they do not bring me any closer to solving the problem. I've tried various 3D-object design programs, but none have been effective. I've also emailed various people but they have not been able to help.Cheers,Matthew.
June 7, 200422 yr Commercial Member As far as I know it is just not possible. In Fs2002 a lot of people tried to make custom trees that had the same lighting effect as the autogen trees, but nobody succeeded. The autogen trees seem to be hardcoded in the scenery engine, so that is probably why they work different. June 8, 200422 yr Hi Arno. Thanks for the reply. That's so weird, becuase my earlier version of EOD did it. However, since up-dating the program, this 'non-hard-shading' option now causes the trees to resolve brightly in the day time and glow in the dark at night.Cheers,Matthew.
