July 1, 200421 yr Ok I have Holgers draft tutorial for editing bgl's I have removed the North Saskatchewan river for one area. When I view the bgl I can see that the water and shore lines are gone. But when I fly over the area the river is still there Any suggestions?? I removed the appropriate default bgl from the NAMW scenery folder and added the "new" one without the river in a new folder which I activated through the library.
July 1, 200421 yr Commercial Member Hi Paul, well, my guess would be that you moved the wrong HP9*.bgl file; double-check the name, it happens to me all the time because the names are so similar. That really is the only explanation, unless soemone else did the river already and the file sits somewhere in your file library. Hang on! Are we talking Edmonton? I think my bcmesh9e.zip replacement files extend to Edmonton so you'd have to edit/remove those replacement files too - check my hp9*.bgl files that sit in the BC-AB LOD9 terrain meshscenery folder. Don't you love those overlapping LWM-fixing projects? :-( What I want to know is why all the conflicts have to be with my files - can't you guys pick a different planet? ;-) Cheers, Holger
July 1, 200421 yr Thanks Holger. You are correct with your BC-AB mesh. Your HP917130 shows the river. The funny thing is Edmonton shows in both the 7130 and 7120 !!! Anyways I guess you already did the work, although when I use Ground2K4 with the sattelite image the river seems off, not by much mind you. I guess I will just add the road without changing the river.
July 1, 200421 yr Commercial Member Hi Paul, for the bcmesh file I added and changed lakes and rivers in the National Parks and B.C. only; for the "rest" of the area covered I "merely" adjusted the water elevation to better fit the add-on mesh - I didn't change the location of any water body in the Edmonton area. If you want to redo the river you chould do so and edit or remove my HP replacement files.Cheers, Holger
July 4, 200421 yr Hi, where can I find this tutorial? I have patched my rivers with elevation points in ground2k4 and it looks like... well you who have tried it know.thrimur
July 5, 200421 yr Author Commercial Member Um... what does it look like? I'm just starting to do this, all going well so far, what sort of results do you get?Visit the Windowlight forum on Avsim... everything you need to know about New Zealand flightsim sceneryhttp://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=sho...forum=203&page=
July 5, 200421 yr Author Commercial Member Ok, thanks. What I'm doing is a LOD10 remesh, as I have a river which rises up as it reaches the coast, creating a towering cliff about 500m from my airfield. The remesh seems to be going ok, but it's slow work. There's another river which cuts a canyon -- actually a braided river, like many in New Zealand, so canyons are a big problem. I'd decided not to worry about this one, but if there is an easier way than remeshing I'll take a look.Visit the Windowlight forum on Avsim... everything you need to know about New Zealand flightsim sceneryhttp://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=sho...forum=203&page=
