simple scenery designer?

Featured Replies

Does anyone remember fs5?,dos?,ega?8086?,hmmm, at my age I can hardly remember my name. At anyrate lets get to the meat. I had fs5 and a few add on progams, one was Microsoft Flight Simulation Aircraft & Scenery Designer. This program was very user friendly, fly or slew to a spot, add a runway, taxiway, some buildings, landing lights, fuel marco, presto you had a airport. Is there any programs out there that are similar in operation? One other question, How can I setup parking at AFBs? I'm tired of landing my C130 only to be asked what direction I want to take off. Thanks in advance JohnnyV

Wasn't it Fs4 that has the Aircraft & Scenery Designer? :). But it is a long way back indeed. No, Fs2004 does not have such a tool. It comes with GMax to let you design 3D objects, but there is no simple slew and click tool to place them. If you are placing a few objects you can probably do it by tweaking the XML code made by GMax, or else you can try to use a tool like SceneGenX.For the parking spots (and other changes to the airport layout) you can best use AFCAD2.

If the world should blow itself up, the last audible voice would be that of an expert saying it can't be done.

Thanks for the tips Arno. We'll give it a go. I just wish there was an easier way to go. Thanks again,

Yep, Aircraft and Scenery Designer was part of FS4 - and pretty good for its time. You had a chronic limitation on max poly count for aircraft and awful bleedthrough but it didn't stop a lot of very good aircraft being made.I cut my first aircraft (DH Comet) and scenery on that program.. :)boneshttp://fsaviation.nethttp://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/ng_driver.jpg
