How can I use the design macros to place objects in FS2004. is there a special program I need for this to work?

Are you talking about macros (library objects) made into API files? If you have an API file, you can use programs like Airport for Windows (AFW) or Flight Simulator Scenery Creator (FSSC) to place the macros, then compile them into a Scenery (*.bgl) file.If you are talking about library objects made by the FS2004 GMAX exporter, then you would compile the resulting MDL and XML files using the FS2004 BGLCOMP compiler.See the how to pinned at the top of this forum for information about the location of the above files.W.
