Can one of the "guru"s here take a look at this airport and tell me what I need to do to fix it? The runways, or at least part of them are underwater.I've tried FSFlatten and AFCAD, but I didn't seem to get the results I expected. Is it because I'm in the water? Maybe I just goofed it up?Sign me a confused painter...Bill Browning

Yes, I've seen that too. Luckily I don't really fly in the antartic. To fix it you need to redefine the coast. (fsflatten and afcad won't do a thing). Have a serious browse through this forum. There are several programs that can help you, but it's not a 5 min job. Be prepared for some learning.Cheers, Christian

Thanks, Christian. I was afaid you were goiong to say that. But, I'm game for that learning thing.Best,Bill

Unfortunately, you are witnessing an anomaly that is a result of the manner by which MS treats the world's surface. The terrain squares, representing latitude and longitude, begin to compress as one approaches the poles, and a pin-cushion effect occurs. Consequently, runways, and terrain etc., appear to float and move around as you near them. Not much can be done about it, I'm afraid. Another example of this effect would be to try landing at Alert, (CYLT) on Ellesmere Island in the High Arctic.
