Runway textures at night

Featured Replies

I did not know where to post this question but I figured you guys in scenery design could help me out. I am looking to change the default runway textures at night to something more realistic. As you can see in the picture below the default night textures, the runway surface is clear and visible. In real life, however this is not the case. It is night and therefore you see nothing, only the runway lights. Is there any way to change the default and make it more realistic-as in black? The runway should be only visible when you turn on landing or taxi lights...hopefully someone can help. thanks in advance, N575US

As far as I know there is no special night texture for the runways. The day texture is used and the scenery engine displays it with a certain lightning level. So I am afraid there is not much to do about this.

If the world should blow itself up, the last audible voice would be that of an expert saying it can't be done.

thanks for the reply...it does seem that the way microsoft runs the night textures. do you know if there is any way to change the contrast while in flight simulator...when i have fs open in a window instead of fullscreen the contrast is a lot darker then in fullscreen mode...any way to change the contrast for something in between these two in fullscreen mode?
