Attachtool objects won`t export from Gmax

Featured Replies

Right now I have to make obstruction lights for my bridges per XML files, bglcomp and lots of trial and error to get the right position. This is because I can`t get Attachtool to work right from Gmax. I have followed the tutorial, and can attach a fx effect to this "box" that are supposed to be stripped away when I export, but everytime I try to export, I get the error shown on the pic. All my other Gmax models exports just fine, and I got MSXML 4, and all the FS9 SDK`s installed.Another question: The tutorial does NOT tell if I should attach my "effectbox" to my model before exporting, or export the effect only. Any ideas?

Hi Andrew,Normally you only get this error when you are exporting a scene that only contains attached objects. You need to export some normal (visual) parts as well. So if you export you total bridge (with the attached effects) I think it should work.

If the world should blow itself up, the last audible voice would be that of an expert saying it can't be done.

Hi Arno,I had to take a break with the attachtool and just use XML in order to upload my scenery. No luck with exporting yet, I`ve tried to export a visual model plus the attached effect all the time...but still get the crash on export. Could it be because Gmax uses a different header for the attched effect than my "manual" XML files?
