Excluding Control Tower with rotating Beacon

Featured Replies

I haven't posted to the forum for quite some time but have found a problem that I seem to recall reading about a while back. I have used AFW (Version 3 - build 192) to exclude airport buildings from a default airport I'm working on. I find that if I exclude the control tower, which has a rotating beacon on the roof, this excludes not only the control tower but the AFCAD runway and taxiways. All other buildings I can exclude with no problems. I seem to recall that it has something to do with the rotating beacon having an 'effect' attached to it. Does anyone have any recollection of this problem and/or possible cures for it.. Tony

Hi Tony,I don't think the attached light should cause your runway to be excluded as well. It is more likely that the tower is located at or very close to the reference point of your AFCAD file and thereby causing everything to be excluded.

If the world should blow itself up, the last audible voice would be that of an expert saying it can't be done.

Thank you Arno. I didn't even think of that possibility. I'll do a bit of tweaking of the exclude and see what happens... Tony

Well thank you again Arno. I made the exclude as small as I could and now everything works as expected. Cheers Tony
