Clearing Scenery Objects

Featured Replies

Hello all, and sorry for the very amateur question but here goes:I just used AFCAD to add rwy 36L/18R to my home airport (KCVG) along with all taxiways, etc...now, how do i clear the scenery from around the addition. Right now there are trees, etc, in the runway and all I need to do is extend the airport "cleared" boundary to include the new runway. Links to other posts or direct help would be much appreciated. Thanks so much in advance...-Adam

Hey Adam, What you need is called an Exclude. I don't know how to do an exclude in AFCAD, but I think it's probably possible. Now if you were using SceneGenX or Ground2k4 I'd be of some use. :)Che

Hi Adam,An exclude would indeed do the job. AFCAD does not have this feature, but you could make one using a XML file.Another option (probably a better on), is the extend the grass polygon that is below the airport. This polygon will automatically exclude the autogen for you. You can make such VTP polygons with SBuilder or Ground2k. As SBuilder allows you to view the default BGL files, it is probably easier to place it next to the grass of the default airport.

If the world should blow itself up, the last audible voice would be that of an expert saying it can't be done.
