July 14, 200619 yr I create a gate animation in my airport. The wheels of gate are linked to dummy01 created by Helper/dummy in Gmax. All animation object name have tick18 prefix.I get tick18_dummy01 roll about 1100 degree. The wheels of gate also roll as dummy01 roll in Gmax. But after i export to FS.The animation work in fs except the wheels. They do not roll as they do in gmax. Are there something i go wrong? What step i miss ?Can any exprienced designer tell me what should i do ?Thanks :)
July 14, 200619 yr I dont think you would want tick18 for your gate wheel. If it were working, which it should be (try resetting its scale), then the wheel should just keep turning, which would look funny as the gate would come to a stop. Why not just animate it with a certain amount of turns? If you are animating the gate to open, then simply partent the wheel to the gate. The problem will be calculating the amount of turns the wheel will turn. It should have the same name as what you are using for the gate as an animation tag. For instance, if your SCASM or XML is 'Docking_Gate', then your wheel(s) would be 'Docking_Gate_01', etc. That is how I would do it.Hope that helps,Bill
July 14, 200619 yr Commercial Member Hi,Is there a reason that you linked those wheels to a dummy object? I am not sure if that is needed (although I am not sure if it is the source of your problem).
